The Annual Day celebration of Ralli International School, held on Sunday, 16 November 2025,
at the Yamuna Sports Complex, Delhi, was a spectacular evening that truly captured the essence
of the theme Kal Ki Khushboo, Aaj ke Rang - From Retro to Metro.
The event commenced with a heartfelt welcome to all esteemed guests, parents, and well-wishers
who had joined the Ralli family on this special occasion. The opening address set a warm and
celebratory tone, emphasising how the journey from “Retro to Metro” reflects not just societal
transformation but also the school’s ongoing growth, evolving vision, and commitment to
excellence. The engaging introduction instantly drew the audience into the spirit of togetherness
and festivity.
To express deep gratitude and respect, the school warmly welcomed and felicitated its
distinguished Chief Guests with floral bouquets. Ralli International School was deeply honoured
to host two eminent personalities, whose wisdom and presence elevated the celebration with
dignity and inspiration.
We were privileged to host Mr. M. K. Raina, the legendary actor, director, and cultural activist
whose visionary contributions have shaped the very fabric of Indian theatre. His rich artistic
journey—spanning iconic plays, transformative performances, and national accolades—brought
depth, meaning, and artistic strength to the occasion. The Ralli community remains sincerely
grateful for the grace, humility, and insight he shared with everyone present.
We were equally honoured to welcome Dr. Rup Narayan Das, a distinguished scholar of
International Relations and one of India’s most respected voices in foreign policy discourse. His
extensive academic contributions, international engagements, and powerful writings added
immense value to the celebration. His presence inspired students to think critically, engage
globally, and aspire towards informed citizenship.
This simple yet heartfelt gesture of welcoming both distinguished guests reflected Ralli
International School’s tradition of honouring excellence and building meaningful, respectful, and
lasting connections. Their gracious presence enriched the occasion, motivating students to dream
bigger and strive with purpose.
The event formally commenced with the ceremonial lamp-lighting, invoking wisdom,
enlightenment, and the triumph of knowledge over ignorance. The Chief Guest, Chairman Sir,
Managing Trustee Sir, Principal Ma’am, and other dignitaries stepped forward to kindle the
sacred lamp. The soft glow illuminated the stage with serenity and grace, marking the auspicious
beginning of the evening’s festivities.
Chairman Sir, Mr. Surinder Ralli, then delivered a profound and insightful address that resonated
deeply with the audience. He reflected on the school’s milestones, achievements, and future
aspirations, emphasising the need to adapt to change while staying rooted in strong moral
values—perfectly echoing the evening’s theme. He highlighted the school’s unwavering
commitment to holistic development, stressing the importance of blending modern innovation
with India’s rich heritage and timeless wisdom. His address inspired students to embrace
creativity, responsibility, and progress anchored in values.
The cultural celebration opened with Swaranjali, an enchanting musical performance by the
school band and orchestra. The ensemble presented a seamless blend of retro classics and
modern rhythms, with violins, keyboards, guitars, and percussion merging gracefully. The
performance symbolised the harmony between past and present, highlighting how music remains
timeless across generations.
This was followed by a divine Nataraj Vandana, a classical dance invoking blessings of the
Almighty. Dressed in magnificent traditional attire, the dancers executed elegant mudras,
rhythmic patterns, and expressive abhinaya, celebrating the richness of Indian culture and
beautifully representing the “retro” element of the theme.
One of the most inspiring moments of the evening was the Awards and Felicitations
Ceremony. Students excelling in academics, sports, arts, leadership, MUN, and co-curricular
activities were honoured for their dedication and achievements. Proud smiles lit the hall as
students walked the stage with confidence, reflecting Ralli International School’s belief in
nurturing diverse abilities and celebrating every milestone.
The school choir then presented Surbani, a melodious vocal showcase featuring a medley of
evergreen retro songs transitioning into vibrant modern tracks. The harmonious voices, control,
and expressive performance immersed the audience in a soul-stirring musical journey across
decades.
Next came Shubharambh, a lively and colourful thematic dance presentation symbolising new
beginnings. The choreography brilliantly blended classical, folk, and contemporary styles,
visually portraying the evolution of cultural expression. The dancers’ energy, costumes, and
formations created a captivating spectacle, perfectly bridging the retro and metro elements of the
theme.
The highlight of the evening was the theatrical extravaganza, “Kal ki Khushboo, Aaj ke
Rang – From Retro to Metro.” This beautifully crafted dramatic presentation traced the
journey across generations, comparing lifestyles, values, music, fashion, communication, and
aspirations of the retro era with those of today’s fast-paced world. Through humour, emotion,
powerful dialogues, and expressive dance sequences, the show illustrated how society has
evolved while remaining anchored to its cultural roots.
To celebrate India’s vibrant diversity, the performance featured a stunning array of traditional
dance forms—from Onam’s graceful Kerala traditions to the energetic rhythms of Bihu, vibrant
Punjabi folk, expressive South Indian classical elements, and colourful Marathi dance forms.
This rich cultural mosaic added depth and variety to the narrative, highlighting how every region
contributes to the nation’s collective identity. The fusion of these traditions beautifully portrayed
the contrast between the simplicity of the past and the vibrancy of the present, making the
theatrical piece deeply meaningful and memorable.
As the evening reached its climax, the much-awaited aerial performance mesmerised the entire
audience. The remarkable agility, balance, and grace displayed by the performers left everyone
enchanted. Their flawless execution reflected the sheer hard work, discipline, and tireless days of
practice poured into mastering the art. It was a moment that truly left the audience spellbound.
The Grand Finale delivered a breathtaking conclusion to the cultural showcase. Students from
various grades came together in a vibrant, synchronised act celebrating unity in diversity. The
stage erupted in colour, music, and movement, encapsulating the joyful spirit of the evening and
symbolising harmony between heritage and modernity.
The performances as a whole seamlessly blended retro charm with modern dynamism—moving
fluidly through generational contrasts and ultimately concluding on a hopeful note. It reminded
the audience that true progress is meaningful only when grounded in values and cultural identity.
The audience applauded the brilliant performances, the meticulous stage management, the
seamless coordination, and the dedication of students and teachers who brought the evening to
life.
A formal Vote of Thanks expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guests, Chairman Sir,
Managing Trustee Sir, Principal Ma’am, teachers, parents, and the organising committee. The
speaker acknowledged the tireless efforts of every individual—performers, stage crews,
coordinators, and volunteers—whose collective commitment ensured the success of the
celebration.
The event concluded with the National Anthem, marking a dignified and patriotic end to a truly
memorable evening.
The Annual Day Celebration 2025 of Ralli International School was an enriching and spectacular
